Q What led you to this industry?

A I’ve always been interested in how things work. My first lean towards engineering was due in part to scoring in the high percentile for engineering aptitude in school. Later I had the opportunity to work in the sheet metal industry for a large mechanical contractor. There I learned the practical side of cost-efficient system installations and MEP trade coordination. As I continued my education in engineering, I learned how to calculate building loads, select and size equipment and systems. The two backgrounds fit well in this industry.

Q What types of projects are your favorite?

A Anything that is challenging. Helping facility managers solve old building problems with new designs is rewarding. Watching new facilities develop from plans is an exciting process.

Q What do you enjoy most as a Principal at Garner Fritsche?

A The leadership opportunities. I enjoy helping our people succeed in their own careers. I am very pleased with the growth and successes of our employees and the company as a whole.

Q Any hobbies outside of the office?

A I have always been a family man. My children have gown and it has been (and still is) fun to be a part of their daily lives. I really like to fish and golf, but it’s easier to fish well than golf well.
