Commissioning Team Experience
Texas Children’s Hospital – Feigin Center Expansion
The 8 story vertical expansion of the Feigin Center facilitated the building’s dedication to research. The project included 151,000 SF of renovation for research labs, research support areas, a 10,000sf vivarium, and a conference center. The expansion project added 222,172sf of space for research labs, clinical research offices, a full floor of GMP space for gene therapies, expanded vivarium space, and a new animal imaging center. The expansion project also included a beta test of a new air monitoring system to reduce air quantities used in the labs. All the new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of this $120 million expansion were commissioned to ensure the systems were operating properly.
Rice University – Childcare Center
This new childcare center located just one block west of the Rice University campus was designed as Rice University’s first LEED Certified building. The project was designed with high efficient mechanical systems, daylighting control systems, and storm water collection systems used for irrigation and gray water systems. All these systems were part of the commissioning plan that was presented to and executed by the design team. Upon completion of the LEED efforts the building was certified with a LEED Silver rating. |
