
Christus Stehlin Lab Relocation

Project information:
23,000 SF relocation of the Stehlin Foundation laboratory for Cancer Research. Renovated use includes chemistry labs, animal labs and administrative spaces. Redesign challenge for the facility was the re-purposing of existing infrastructure to accommodate budget and deliver a high performing end product for the foundation.
GF services included the design of the HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Low Voltage Systems.
Major Project Elements:
- Modified existing HVAC system from a re-circulating system to a one-pass system and replaced two existing hot water boilers, modified existing steam systems, provided new sequences of operation.
- Modified the emergency power system to connect new equipment loads.
- Designed and specified new security systems and cabling infrasture.
- Modified existing lab air, CO2, and nitrogen gas piping/manifold and provided new vacuum pump and piping.
- Designed new liquid nitrogen piping system.
